So what do I do when the sparkle dulls…
When only a little bit of sparkle remains?
Yesterday – my sparkle was reduced to tears…“All walls closing in” tears.
Sparkle and Pink for me is a visual reminder of who I am in Christ. It represents the passion that He has for me to pursue HIM. It is having the faith and the courage to keep taking steps. It is discovering His Names for me and who He says I am. It is learning these new truths and letting them sink into my very core. It is about saying I want to follow you Lord – but I need you to show me where to go, and what to do. Lead me and guide me – show me the plans you have for me. Give me courage and strength because I can quickly grow weary and give up. I can quickly retreat and say this is too hard! I can’t do this! Through a series of disappointments – He showed me HIS FAITHFULNESS. Everything around me is unsteady – those things that kept me grounded are temporary. People will disappoint, life will disappoint – but HE IS FAITHFUL. He remains when all else fails. The place I went yesterday was filled with despair, and yet He was my ROCK and I held on for dear life. It was as if He said to me, “these things that are important to you and big to you – keep them in perspective. They can’t give you what I am able to give you…I am the only gas that will fill your tank.”
So I pulled into his station, and I was filled: Psalm 119:33-40
Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees that I may follow it to the end. Give me understanding so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. Fulfill your promise to your servant so that you may be feared. Take away the disgrace that I dread for your laws are good. How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life.
There are times when the sparkle will dull…it will fade. But I have to remember I am His – He put His light in me to shine. So I add a little more sparkle to remind me of who I am in Christ – and how I am to shine.
Shine Bright, and Sparkle On!
